What does ClaimParrot do?
It turns a denial into a case a person can act on: the payer's stated reason, the deadline, the evidence the record holds or lacks, and an editable draft. A qualified person reviews and approves every packet before anything is sent.
- Reads a payer's denial notice or remittance and pulls out the stated reason, the codes, the care setting, the review stage and the deadline printed in the notice.
- Builds an evidence checklist for that denial type, so the team can see what the record does and does not document before anyone drafts.
- Prepares peer-to-peer questions and an editable appeal packet grounded in the notice and the records the team supplies.
- Keeps every case in a queue with its deadline, its owner and an approval step, for one program or for many clients of a billing company.
Why behavioral health?
Behavioral-health care is authorized and re-reviewed in short increments, so denials arrive while treatment is still under way, deadlines are short, and the argument turns on level-of-care criteria. That work is specialized, and many denial-management products are built for hospitals and large medical groups instead.
Intensive outpatient, partial hospitalization, residential, inpatient psychiatric, detox and SUD programs face concurrent review and continued-stay decisions. Outpatient practices face session limits, prepayment reviews and coding edits. ABA providers face hours reductions and reauthorizations. The facts we rely on, with their sources, are collected in behavioral health denial statistics 2026, and the resource library explains the rules behind each denial type.
What ClaimParrot does not do
- Does not make medical-necessity or level-of-care determinations. Qualified clinicians decide clinical questions.
- Does not give legal advice and is not a law firm, insurer or clinical provider.
- Does not send anything on its own. A person reviews and approves every packet before delivery.
- Does not reproduce licensed criteria such as ASAM, LOCUS, CALOCUS, InterQual or MCG.
- Does not accept patient data or protected health information, and does not sign BAAs: every request is de-identified.
- Does not promise payment, overturn rates or any other outcome.
How data, retention, subprocessors and the HIPAA boundary are handled is set out on the Trust & security page and the HIPAA page. How the resource pages are written is in the editorial policy.
